James Lee has worked at Ancala Water Services for almost three years now as a Field Technician.
It is James's responsibility to check & maintain assets that Ancala Water Services look after over the MOD estate. This ranges from Clean water & sewage treatment works to oil-water interceptors. James also responds to reactive alarms, blockages, and health & safety issues.
James's working day usually starts from home, planning the day around what maintenance there was booked in for the week ahead. All jobs are distributed via laptops and providing the freedom for James to plan his working days.
Once on-site, it is James's responsibility to carry out certain tasks at each asset to make sure they are operating correctly or simply taking a sample from a treatment works to make sure a site is keeping to internal and external consents. This is all logged on laptops which feeds back in real time.
At any time of the day, James and his team could also be given reactive jobs, where attending a site urgently with no water, blockages or a telemetry alarm becomes priority. James's day finishes at home, checking emails and if on standby wait for any jobs that may come in out of hours.
