Restricted Water Supply in the Upavon Area, Wiltshire – UPDATE at 14:00 on 01/12/23

UPDATE at 1400 on 01/12/23

AWS strives to provide high standards of water quality and is proactively seeking to restore the supply of water to site. We have continued to work through our planned interventions which has resulted in a positive outcome for the latest water sampling results. These results have been confirmed by an independent accredited laboratory as meeting the required standards and the regulator has been consulted. Although the Do Not Drink remains in place, the restrictions have been reduced and the water supplied can now be used for bathing and laundry activities, in addition to the flushing of toilets.

We will be continuing with our activities and the ongoing schedule of water sampling, The current Do Not Drink restrictions will remain in place until both AWS, and our regulator, are confident that the water quality meets the required standards. The water sampling results will inform our decisions, in consultation with the regulator, although exact timescales for removal of restrictions cannot be confirmed at this time. Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to remove remaining restrictions as soon as practicably possible.
