Our Recruitment Process
Our Recruitment Process
Here you can learn a little more about how we assess candidates.
We look for applicants to answer questions using past experiences and transferrable skills. These answers may not always come from a working background; it could be an answer from education, or your personal life. Questions will be loosely based around formats such as ‘Tell me about a time when…’ and ‘Please give an example of…’
Our interviews are also a time for you to question us, and ensure that Ancala Water Services is the right fit for you. Take this opportunity to ask us anything that you feel is important to you and the role you are applying for.
- Team exercises
- Presentations
- Practical tests
- Role-play exercises
- Scenarios
If your recruitment process is to include one or more of these exercises, you will be made aware before you arrive on the day. Depending on the exercise, we may ask you to prepare something before your assessment, or we may choose to brief you on arrival.
We use these exercises to assess candidates in different ways and they allow candidates who find interviews difficult to show their true colours. They will almost always be coupled with a competency based interview.
If your recruitment assessment is to include an online test, you will be made aware of this.
They are almost always coupled with a competency based interview and we usually ask for these to be completed before you attend any interview or other assessment with us.
