Charity Bike Challenge

Thanks to the energy, creativity, and generosity of our wonderful colleagues, we are delighted to confirm that we have officially raised an incredible £2,501.52 for charity!

We have made donations of £754.59 to CoppaFeel!, £741.09 to ANDYSMANCLUB and £755.84 to Prostate Cancer UK and following the support from the team at IIH UK, who assisted in raising awareness of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension during Women’s Health Month, we donated £250.

Whether our teams baked cakes, sausage rolls, samosas or even created a new office favourite in selling THE best baked potatoes in Yorkshire(!), we are so grateful for all of the effort that went in to making our awareness and fundraising sessions such a success. But it didn’t stop there! We also had amazing support from football card sales, pin badges, raffle ticket sales, donations of raffle prizes, homegrown pumpkin sales and busy Just Giving page so a huge ‘THANK YOU!’ all who cheered or simply spread the word; every effort made a difference to help us smash our target!

Together, we’ve shown just how much heart Ancala Water Services has and the impact of this donation will be felt in each of the charities being able to continue the amazing work, research and support that they do and provide.

Let’s keep the good vibes going! If you want to know more about how these funds will help, check out these websites:

AWS promotes Mental Health Awareness Month

21/05/2024|

News News 21/05/2024 Mental Health Awareness Week this year is all about Movement: moving more for our mental health. At Ancala Water Services, we recognise the importance of good mental health and so we are promoting Mental Health Awareness month across the remainder of May! We hope this will be more inclusive, allowing everyone to take part and encouraging as many colleagues across our business as possible to become more active and develop a healthier physical and mental lifestyle. We are making this possible for all by: Encouraging all to become more active and take 30 minutes out of our working time between now and the end of May to get involved in physical exercise of some kind. We have already seen colleagues such as Tristan Drew, Finance Business Partner, Jordan Leigh, Business Development and Marketing Associate and the HR team complete bike rides, team walks and individual runs taking in beautiful scenery, getting those endorphins going and taking advantage of the vitamin D intake whilst the sunshine has been making an appearance ???? Having a dedicated Mental Health Awareness page on our Wellbeing SharePoint page.  This includes links to mental health related webinars ran by #westfieldhealth , fitness videos for all abilities from #thebodycoach , reminders of our great benefits which include gym and fitness discounts and new mental health and fitness apps from Wisdom app from #healthassured and Help@Hand from #squarehealth In a world where we have become increasingly more inactive, it is important that we all take some time to become more active.  Mental Health UK research has found that people who take part in regular physical exercise have up to 30% lower risk of depression and it is recognised that exercise can be more effective for the treatment of depression than counselling and medication. Thank you to all of our colleagues in helping raise awareness and promoting the importance of looking after our own and each other’s Mental Health. MORE NEWS LATEST NEWS
