Water Supply Temporary Use Bans – Updated 17/08/2026
News Ut quam tortor Due to low rainfall coupled with exceptionally high temperatures, water companies are implementing their Drought Plans. This can include Temporary Use Bans (TUBs), commonly referred to as hosepipe bans. During periods of prolonged dry weather or drought, it is important to avoid unnecessary water use to help protect limited water resources. Ancala Water Services follow the guidance of the Statutory Undertakers (the local Water Companies) and pass this guidance or temporary use ban (TUB) communication to all affected sites/ parties within Aquatrine Package A. Excessive or non-essential use of water places additional pressure on water supplies, rivers, reservoirs, groundwaters etc. and the wider environment at a time when natural replenishment is significantly reduced. Some of the site’s in Aquatrine Package A are on direct borehole or surface water abstractions (not imported water from the local Water Company), we will take the guidance of the Regulators if formal restrictions need to be applied, however, in the interim if these sites are in regions/ areas which are in drought and have a TUB in place we request the site’s follow the same guidance and avoid unnecessary water use.
