Water Supply Temporary Use Bans – Updated 17/08/2026
Water Supply Temporary Use Bans – Updated 17/08/2026
Due to low rainfall coupled with exceptionally high temperatures, water companies are implementing their Drought Plans. This can include Temporary Use Bans (TUBs), commonly referred to as hosepipe bans.
During periods of prolonged dry weather or drought, it is important to avoid unnecessary water use to help protect limited water resources.
Ancala Water Services follow the guidance of the Statutory Undertakers (the local Water Companies) and pass this guidance or temporary use ban (TUB) communication to all affected sites/ parties within Aquatrine Package A.
Excessive or non-essential use of water places additional pressure on water supplies, rivers, reservoirs, groundwaters etc. and the wider environment at a time when natural replenishment is significantly reduced. Some of the site's in Aquatrine Package A are on direct borehole or surface water abstractions (not imported water from the local Water Company), we will take the guidance of the Regulators if formal restrictions need to be applied, however, in the interim if these sites are in regions/ areas which are in drought and have a TUB in place we request the site's follow the same guidance and avoid unnecessary water use. By using water responsibly and eliminating avoidable wastage, individuals and organisations can help safeguard supplies for essential needs, support environmental resilience, and reduce the risk of water shortages and further restrictions.
AWS cascade the instructions for TUBs to impacted customers. The link below is for the current TUB to be enforced, this link will be updated when new information and updates are available:
